Tournament Information
The event will be held at The Emerson, located at 561 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11205. There is no advanced registration; sign-up will occur day-of. The entry fee is $25 for the novice tournament and $60 for the open tournament, cash only. Prize money will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places of the main tournament and to the 1st and 2nd places of the novice tournament.

Format
The open tournament will follow a double-elimination format. Participants will start in the main bracket. Upon losing a match in the main bracket, a player moves to the consolation bracket. The winner of the consolation bracket will compete in the finals against the winner of the main bracket. If the consolation champ beats the main bracket champ, they will have to play once more. 
The novice tournament will be single-elimination. 

Match Scoring
Matches in the Main Bracket will be played to 7 points.
Matches in the Consolation Bracket will be played to 5 points.
Matches in the Novice Tournament will be played to 5 points.

Game Clocks
Clocks preferred. Clocks will be provided and set at 2 minutes per point with a 12-second delay. Players must make their move within the allocated time per point. Failure to do so will result in an automatic loss.

Other rules 
Crawford rule is in effect. 
Dice on checkers can be played. 
Responsible moves are in effect.
If there are any questions or issues during the match, event organizers will use their discretion on any matters not covered by these rules. Any form of cheating or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification from the tournament.
