RULES + ANNOUNCEMENTS 1:45PM PLAY STARTS AT 2:00PM Tournament Information The event will be held at The Emerson, located at 561 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11205. REGISTER ONLINE with a $5 discount or sign-up day of, providing we don't sell out. The entry fee is $35 for the novice tournament and $55 for the open tournament. We will be doing a $5 DMP side bracket! Play while-u-wait for your next match. Format The open tournament will follow a double-elimination format. Participants will start in the main bracket. Upon losing a match in the main bracket, a player moves to the consolation bracket. There will be a winner for the main bracket and a separate winner for the consolation bracket. There WILL be re-buys for the first 90 minutes for re-entry into the main bracket. NEW THIS YEAR! We will also be doing a side pool. Match Scoring Matches in the Main Bracket will be played to 7 points. Matches in the Consolation Bracket will be played to 5 points. Matches in the Novice Tournament will be played to 5 points. Game Clocks Clocks required. Clocks will be provided and set at 2 minutes per point with a 12-second delay. Players must make their move within the allocated time per point. Failure to do so will result in an automatic loss. Other rules Crawford rule is in effect. Responsible moves are in effect. No dice on checkers as a default. Players can discuss before the match begins if they wish to play dice on checkers, both must agree. If there are any questions or issues during the match, event organizers will use their discretion on any matters not covered by these rules. Any form of cheating or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification from the tournament. Lastly, HAVE FUN! |
